predator - Production
Predators are factory built production units. Highly polished moulds are used, giving an immaculate finish to every boat. Only the best
quality resins, fibreglass and foams are used ensuring years of enjoyable sailing with as little maintenance as is possible on a boat.
All the fibreglass is hand laid, using a high proportion of biaxial and multiaxial glass cloth. This provides an ideal resin to glass ratio giving a boat that is
light but immensely strong. The hulls are solid fibreglass; in other words, without a core; as we believe that this is the best material choice to meet the
harsh treatment that a trailable boat will encounter - regular beaching, trailering, hard boat ramps, rocky shores, etc.
The hulls are reinforced with the centreboard cases under the floor, a series of bulkheads every 500mm and the through-hull beam tubes, making
them immensely stiff and strong. The decks, as well as the cabin on the PREDATOR 21, are composite foam core which gives a very light but very stiff
and strong structure.
All aluminium components are 6061 T6 marine/structural grade.
All stainless steel is 316 marine grade.
Contact between dissimilar metals is avoided or insulated to prevent electrolytic corrosion.
All nuts and bolts are easily accessible to facilitate future maintenance, replacement or modification.
